Through their participation in the choir, children gain a greater understanding of how to use their voices in song, sing musically, participate in various musical experiences and have the opportunity to create friendships with others who share their interest in music.Founded in 2006 by Artistic Director Lisa Alleman, the Choir celebrated its 10th anniversary during the 2016-2017 season. Over the past 11 years, the chorus has collaborated with many local musicians including the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, the Masterworks Chorale, Clarence Smith Community Chorus, Tapestry Harp and Guitar Duo, Folk singer and songwriter Kerry Patrick Clark, the Ohio Northern University Steel Drum Band, and The University of Toledo. Beginning with the 2018-2019 season, the Children’s Choir of Northwest Ohio will be part of UT Music’s Community Music Program. More information about the Choir at www.ccofnwo.org.
